Animoto

Today we explored Animoto. It is a free to use website or you can pay five or thirty-nine dollars for plus and premium. Animoto is a website where you can upload pictures and it shall make a 30 second video for the free version, 10 minute video for plus, and 20 minute video for the premium version. You can have themes on it where it will show different stuff.



Spock Video
Up above is a video that i made of JUST Spock just because.  I made this video too. It is nearly seven minutes long because it has 201 pictures in it and they are all of the pictures that i found and put them as my background on the computer so yea. This also may be my last post because i am moving so i wont be on here anymore so if you enjoyed this blog then i thank you.

Firefox Themes/Extensions

Today we used Firefox instead of Safari and the first thing that we did was to put a theme on our browser.

You can use themes to show what interests you so like for me i like Kingdom Hearts so i searched up Kingdom Hearts themes and i found some that i like so you click the theme that you like and then it should pop up who made and then you have to click Add to Firefox then a new theme should pop up on the browser on top.

This is an example of a theme. This is an Organization XIII theme from Kingdom Hearts.

Another example of a theme that i found. This one is from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days with Xion, Roxas, and Axel.

After we were done with the themes we explored Firefox Extensions. What it does is that you can add more stuff on Firefox like you can add games that you can use when your bored. There are many different types of Extensions like one makes ALL pictures that you see pictures of Nicholas Cage.

Gickr

Today we made an animated gif file and down below is what i made it is all Kingdom Hearts related. We used Gickr to make the animated gif file. The maximum amount of pictures that you can put on the gif file is ten. After you put all the pictures that you want you just click continue at the bottom and wait a bit then just copy the HTML code or you can download the file as well.

This is a game i created using ProProfs. Slight warning if you are going to take this hangman quiz. All the characters are from the game series Kingdom Hearts so unless you know that game then i would advise to look it up or not try it unless you want to sit there and just try to guess all the words. 

piZap

Another picture editing website that we visited is piZap. On piZap you can add different effects on it and you can like cut out something from one picture and then you can add it to the picture that you want to edit.

FotoFlexer

Another photo editor website that we went to was FotoFlexer. You can edit pictures from other websites like Facebook or myspace. There are many different tools that you can use to edit like a distortion or a warped edit. You can even add many layers to one picture so in like one area of the picture there is a distortion effect and in another a pixilated effect.

PhotoFunia

Today we explored a photo editing website called PhotoFunia. A photo editing anything is when you can either take a picture of yourself or you can find a pic from the internet and put your own personal touches on it. With PhotoFunia there are many options that you can choose from to edit the picture that you chose. There are some options that put you into or on places/stuff like one you would be on the moon and another put you on a motorcycle. With photo editing you can have fun by editing anything that you want.

Tagul

Tagul is a free to use website that you can put words into a shape that you choose. You can also find a picture of your choosing and use that picture instead. It is easy to use and actually pretty fun to use too. If you want to you can also put your design to a shirt or like a mug if you want but you have to pay to do that. You can also add links to your words so if you have a running word on there then you can link it to go to a website that has to do with shoes.

Word Cloud

Today we reviewed on what Word Clouds were and how we can use them. We mostly used Wordle for our word clouds. Word Clouds is an random arrangement of words that you choose to be in the word cloud. In Wordle if you wanted the word that you wanted to be bigger then you would type in the word more times than once and when you generate the cloud then that word would be bigger than the others. You can make your word clouds to be just for pure fun or it can even be educational if you want. You can put them on your blogs, websites, etc. and if you want you could actually put your word cloud on a t-shirt.

We explored Loogix for a bit today and we created a animated GIF file using loogix which is free to use and very easy to use too.

Visitor Counter

A long time ago we made a flag counter for our blog and it tells how many countries that have visited the blog and it would collect the flag from that country or you could set it to a specific continent and it would collect flags from that country.

Stykz

Today in class, we went to Stykz. Stykz is a free animation that you can put on your computer or laptop. It's easy to use and easy to figure out since it has directions to install it on your computer.

Drawing Tools

Today in class we went to a different number of free to use drawing websites.

One of the first ones that i went to is Sketchpad. On Sketchpad you can use a number of different tools to draw like Calligraphy, stamps, pencils, etc. You can also put patterns on it too.

I used Calligraphy to draw this which
translates to "Kingdom Hearts" in
Japanese.

Another website that we went to was Pencil Madness. On Pencil Madness you can use a pencil that they provide you in many different ways like you can use it to sketch something then you could darken the sketch and if you wanted to you could also share it but you need to have a account to share/save your drawing.

Another website that i went to was Slimber. On Slimber you can actually VIEW the people drawing what they drew after they are done so you can watch a video of them drawing it. You can do drawings but to post them for people to see you have to make an account but you can do everything else without having to make an account.

Poll Everywhere

Poll Everywhere is a free to use website that you can use to create your own poll for your website, blog etc. You can access it and make polls then it would give you the link that you can add to your blog but it also gives you the option to have people vote using their phones too. It is a live poll feed so you can look at your poll while people are voting and you can see them voting.

Google Voice

Google Voice is a free product offered by Google that you can use to call people from your computer. To use Google Voice you have to go to your G-Mail account and look at middle right hand corner and look for the telephone icon and you click it then you have to register your computer and then it gives it a number of its own then you can use it to call other peoples phone numbers.

Avatar's

A avatar is...well it can be anything that you want to. It can be a look-alike of yourself or something totally different like an animal.

One of the avatar creator websites is Build Yourself Wild. On Build Yourself Wild you can make a person then you can add animal parts like elephants ears or maybe even Zebra arms if you want that on your avatar.

Another avatar creating website is at Zui.com. You can add different stuff like the clothing on it, head, eyes, etc. the only "problem" is that if you make one it always have the same pose and you can do nothing to change it.

Google Hangouts

Google plus offers a product call Google Hangouts. Google Hangouts is basically like a Skype but you can have up to 9 people in one call so you could call up to 9 people on there and talk to them at the same time. The only "problem" is that you have to install a plugin on your laptop/computer to make the calls but other than that your all good to call your friends, family, etc. You can also add effects on your face so you can add like a dog mask to put on your face or a mustache and other stuff that it provides. You can also change your background so when someone views your face you can be in like Venice and see the effects that you added on yourself.

If you want to call people you first have to go to Google Plus and click on "Start a video Hangout" and if this is your first time using it then it will ask you to install a plugin and then it will give you instructions to do so and after you have done those steps then you shall be able to call anyone that has a  Google Plus account.

Google Products

There are many things that Google provides other than the Google search. You can see all the products that Google provides here

One of the products that they provide is Google Offers. Google Offers can help you find online coupons that you can redeem in stores that are near you so say like that you like in Kansas City, Kansas and you wanted a coupon for something in the Legends so you would go to Google Offers and search up the category that is in and it possibly might have that store so then you would click on "Get Offer" and it would save that coupon and then you could go to that store and you could redeem it at it for that discount or whatever the coupon says.

Another product that they provide is Google Shopping. Google shopping is like any other online shopping website BUT if you search something that you want like since im a Kingdom Hearts fan and i want a necklace from it i could type in "Kingdom Hearts Necklace" and it would actually look at other websites like eBay and many other types of websites so you could actually see the different sites prices so you can get the best price on the item that you want to buy.

Another product that Google provides is Google News. Google News provides stories from all around the world and you can actually personalize it so say that you like Sports news but not Science news so you would click the cog in the top right hand corner you can set it to where you can always see the Sports news but never the Science News. You can also personalize it even more by setting what news you actually want to read so say that you like The New York Times but not CNN so you could actually set it to that you wont get any news reports from CNN.

Gadgets

Gadgets are basically applications for your website, blog, etc. to add. Some of the gadgets are games like Pac-Man and Snake. You can also add stuff like calendars, translate, etc. You can also add virtual pets like the fish, dog, ferret, guinea pig, etc.

You can add these gadgets to "spruce" up your website, blog, etc. Some of them are cute and funny but most of them are useless like the "Virtual Girlfriend" gadget where probably only the Admin would use that gadget and not other people if they visited the blog or website.

Symbaloo

Today in class we went to a website called www.symbaloo.com. This website is a Social Bookmarking Website/Tool. A Social Bookmarking Website/Tool is where you can bookmark your favorite websites in just one page they call a webmix. You can also search for people's webmixes too if they shared it with the world.

The benefits of using Symbaloo is pretty cool like you can put Symbaloo as your homepage so you can access those websites that you bookmarked in a few seconds. Another benefit is say that you need help on researching a paper and you can search for webmixes that have to do with that subject and look at what other people have made in the past and that can help you.

Symbaloo uses things called tiles to bookmark your websites which is basically a tile that has the URL in the tile so you can access it in an instant. If the website is popular say like YouTube then their icon will pop up so you can know what that website is. You can also change your background from the images that they already have or you can upload your own image as shown below with my Kingdom Hearts wallpaper of Oblivion and Oathkeeper. [[Yes im a big Kingdom Hearts fan]]

Voki

A Voki is an avatar that you can make at www.voki.com. It is a free service that anyone can use. An avatar can be a representation of yourself or someone else.

With the Voki avatar you can customize what they look like. You can also make it talk by typing what you want it to say or call the number provided at their website and record up to a 90 second message with your own voice by using a computer microphone or like i said you can call the number that is provided at their website and use your own voice.

To add a Voki to a blog, website, etc. you first need to sign up with their website. After that you need to create the avatar to your specifications. Finally you go to the HTML code then copy all of the code then you post all of that code to a gadget.

My Favorite Websites.

One of my most favorites websites to visit in my free time is www.cheatcc.com. It is a gaming website and since im a gamer i go to that website when i have questions on how to beat like a boss or i may want to find some easter eggs {extra things in the game} for fun or try to find some glitches in the game. It also has people writing reviews about games, new console systems, and just everyday gaming experience that the have throughout the day so i read those often just for a laugh or something that interests me i read it.

 

The other website that im usually on is of course Youtube. On it i usually watch gaming videos on it or i use it to watch anime that i cant use to watch on the regular shows. Like i said i use it to watch gaming videos like walkthroughs which are helpful...at some times. I use it to watch anime because i like watching that kind of stuff but you really cant see any anime in the United States so thats when Youtube is really helpful.
